October 16, 2025, Monthly Members Meeting Minutes

To be presented at the November 20, 2025, Members Meeting

*MEETING CALLED TO ORDER BY:   

Luba Skibo at 6:33 p.m.

++OFFICER’S REPORTS++

*Secretary’s Report:

David Coomer read Minutes from the August Meeting. The Minutes were approved. (September meeting was the annual picnic and no business was conducted).

*Treasurer’s Report:

Justin Crawford gave an oral report and provided printed copies. The report was accepted.

*President’s Update:

Luba Skibo began by thanking the previous leadership for serving, she then encouraged the club to keep going forward.

*Vice President’s Update:
Robert Smith talked about the upcoming Bee School, and he announced the meals for the students would be provided. Robert thanks those who assisted at the Caldwell County Fair.

++OLD BUSINESS++

No old business.

++NEW BUSINESS++

The February Bee School already announced and the upcoming Christmas Dinner in December. A vote was taken on which eating establishment to meet at and JD’s Smoke House was decided upon.

Election of new leadership. Luba explained the election committees roll and thanked them for serving.

Jon Tom McKee announced the candidates for the new leadership and initiated voting for each candidate. All Candidates were voted in UNANIMOUSLY.

The new leadership is President, Terry Triplett. Vice President, Steve White. Secretary, Lia Sweeney. Treasurer will continue to be Justin Crawford (his third and final year as treasurer). Historian, Gina Gajewski. Program Director, Jon Tom McKee

Luba asked for and a vote was taken on her suggestion that the club pay for all the members and their plus one’s meal at the Christmas Dinner. Majority voted no and the dinner will be self-pay.

Luba encouraged members to check the state site for more information on the next State Conference. Including testing for advanced beekeepers.

Lia Sweeney introduced the guest speaker, Ashby Miller.

++SPEAKER PRESENTATION++

He presented Breeding a Better Bee. Also explaining how to choose which bee to breed and He also provided his viewpoints on various Varroa Destructor treatments.

 ++OTHER BUSINESS/UPCOMING EVENTS++

Robert and Luba talked about a brochure for the upcoming AG Fair informing about the Bee School so it can be handed out.

7 door prizes were awarded.

The 50/50 raffle gave a member $38.

The meeting adjourned at 8:23 p.m.
