*Vice President’s Update:

Robert Smith matched each person who had requested a mentor as of last meeting with an experienced beekeeper.

Robert remined the club that we will be hosting a Field Day at Hidden Happiness on 5/17. Anyone who wants to take their practical exam is welcome to do so at that event.

Robert met with church representatives regarding the matter of installing hives on church property. Because the church wants to host hives but due to liability concerns, Robert is going to install two of his hives on the property and will maintain the hives. He will make them available to the club, as necessary.

Luba made a motion to amend the request made in March related to hives on church property to accept Robert’s proposal. The Motion was amended and approved.

Robert announced there will be a Journeyman class held in Catawba County at noon on both 6/21 and 6/28. To sit for the Journeyman test, an individual must be a Certified Beekeeper for 2 years, but the class can be taken at any time.
