Program Chair, Mickey Hollar – December meeting will be our annual Christmas dinner at Captain’s Galley at 6:30. Reservations made for approximately 50. Doug Galloway also invited staff at the Extension office to join us. Captain’s Galley is located at 435 Hickory Blvd, Granite Falls, NC
Vice President, Tracey Carriker – N/A. Doug Galloway reminded everyone to submit any GAP forms to Tracey.

Revisited Caldwell County Beekeepers willingness to help co-host the Summer Beekeeping Conference in 2019 which will be in Hickory, NC, August 8,9,10. Mickey Hollar and Danny Jaynes made formal motion for members to vote on our willingness to participate. After a raise of hands, members voted in favor to help with the Conference. Doug Vinson will come to our January meeting to answer any questions and discuss our sponsoring. Volunteers are needed for this event (last meeting we had 7 people that agreed to volunteer). As a reminder, there will be a Silent Auction at the Conference. Melodie Yancey will provide the basket, Kandus Passig will coordinate putting the donated items together for the basket, so please give donations for the Auction to Kandus.
For those that purchased Raffle tickets for the Hive Scale, a winner will be picked at the Christmas dinner. Last minutes will be available for $5 each or 3 for $10.
Reminder of Beginning Beekeeping Workshop is Feb 16, 21, 23 with Practical Test April 13 – depending on weather.
Brushy Mountain Bee Farm closed their doors November 9, 2018. All three locations closed. Candy was laid off on Thursday, and already found employment at Lowe’s Corporate.

Mickey Hollar is in charge of refreshments and needs folks to volunteer during the year to pick a month to bring some goodies for our meetings.
